They share how the Italy time zone made following the games unusually easy from Portugal, and why Alexia found herself genuinely hooked on winter sports for the first time. The main focus is Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, the Brazilian-Norwegian alpine skier who made history by winning Brazil's first-ever Winter Olympics gold medal. Alexia and Foster break down who Lucas is, how he went from competing for Norway to switching to Team Brazil, and the behind-the-scenes tension with the Norwegian ski federation that led to the split. They also talk about what makes Lucas so captivating beyond the sport itself — his dual identity, his emotional connection to Brazil, and the fact that he speaks Portuguese fluently but with the kind of charming errors that make him a perfect role model for language learners everywhere. As always, this episode is packed with real-life Brazilian Portuguese that you won't find in textbooks or apps. Enjoy! Aproveite!
