The Impactful Journey: How the First Designer’s Experience Shapes Design Leadership and Business Success invites you to participate in a thought-provoking dialogue. We are honored to have an exciting discussion with Tara Kelly, a prominent author, founder, and leader in UX product design. Drawing from her ground-breaking book, “First Designer In,” Tara will discuss her profound observations and distinctive viewpoints. This book, which is more than just a design manual, focuses on the less-discussed non-design responsibilities of a designer, particularly in a startup environment. During the interview, Tara will discuss the realities and difficulties of being the first design recruit at a company. You’ll learn methods for establishing expectations, defining the nature of the design role, and locating career paths in a startup setting. This debate is a must-watch for UX and product designers starting their startups, startup founders looking to employ their first designer, and startup investors supporting early-stage companies. Additionally, Tara has incorporated some pearls of wisdom from her interviews with various startup ecosystem gurus. The future of design systems, design business, recruiting dynamics, mentorship, and community development are just a few of the hot subjects these professionals discuss. Join us as Tara shares her vast knowledge to inspire you to become a design leader. Whether you’re a designer, the founder of a startup, or an investor, this conversation has something to teach you.
