Feminismos del Sur

Is it hard to be a feminist in Czech Republic?

In this episode, three friends Pavla, Patricia, and Yeramis share personal stories and reflections on gender roles, feminism, and social change in Czech society. They discuss the lingering effects of communism on public attitudes toward activism, the stigma around identifying as a feminist, the gender pay gap, expectations around motherhood and relationships, and the pressure women face to conform to traditional roles. The conversation moves between deeply personal experiences and wider political realities, from exclusion in everyday life to changing laws around consent and growing feminist movements among younger generations. Honest, emotional, and hopeful, this episode explores not only the challenges women continue to face, but also the hope for feminism in the country.
