But the reality is too brutal to handle and the Parallel can be a place to escape the harshness of this permanent desolate situation. Amidst obsolete noisy engines and hi-tech quantum computers, the surviving decadent society is mostly made of machines: robots, androids, and cyborgs occupy concrete tunnels, sewer systems, and abandoned vaults. Crimes occur and the Consortium is always looking for the rebels, trying to destroy or silence them.
