MEMBERS OF THE BLACK WOMEN AND MEN'S MOVEMENTS DON'T WANT TO HEAR SOMEONE SAY THEY'S NOT RACIST. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP BEING IT, BECAUSE WE LIVE IN SOCIETIES IMPREGNATED BY RACISM. IT IS PRESENT IN ALL OUR RELATIONSHIP NETWORKS, SUCH AS THE FAMILY, SCHOOL, THE CHURCH, THE MEDIA, LAWS, GOVERNMENTS, COMPANIES, ETC. The implementation of the struggle for a more peaceful, just and equitable society and a life free from violence, without a shadow of a doubt, also depends on confronting the multiple forms of racism. It is estimated that in Latin America and the Caribbean there are 150 million people of African descent, almost 30% of all inhabitants in the region. In Brazil, they represent 56% of the total population of 211 million inhabitants. The region was the main world importer of slaves. This population is the most vulnerable in terms of poverty and violence.
