Invention of The Lightbulb (English Version)

Notas do episódio

The Podcast cover the history of the incandescent light bulb, from its early research and multiple inventors, including Humphry Davy and Joseph Swan, to its successful commercialization, credited primarily to Thomas Edison. They detail Swan's contributions in the United Kingdom and the subsequent collaboration and competition with Edison in the United States, culminating in the formation of Edison. In addition, the texts explore Swan's biography, his other inventions, and the perspective that the innovation of the light bulb was the effort of multiple individuals and systems, not just a single genius. Biographies of Edison are also presented, focusing on his process of invention, his laboratory in Menlo Park, and his role in the development of a complete system of electric lighting, although he was not the only or the first to create a working incandescent light bulb.
