#526 - 🇬🇧 The Sermon on the Mount, Part 1: A Heart Made New (Matthew 5:1-20)

In the first episode of this series on Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1-20), we explore the Beatitudes, the call to be salt and light, and Jesus’ words about God’s law. The message turns on a challenging question: how can our righteousness go beyond outward rule-keeping? The answer points to humility, repentance, and the Holy Spirit’s work of renewing the heart—so that love, mercy, faithfulness, and generosity grow from within. This series on “The Sermon of the Mount” was presented in Johannesburg, South Africa, to the SID (Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division) Stewardship Directors Advisory, and this episode was delivered on March 17, 2026.
