HIV - from chaos to cure

Notas do episódio

This final special episode of “HIV from chaos to cure” is the first episode in English recorded by Instituto Saudiversidade! Here we explored the remarkable development of HIV treatment since the early days of the epidemic until the present day. We then discuss why, despite the existence of very effective treatments, people living with HIV and scientists are still passionately hoping to develop a cure. To map this journey, we interviewed researchers, healthcare providers, people living with HIV, and a person who has been cured of HIV. Instituto Saudiversidade received financial support from the HOPE Martin Delaney Collaboratory for HIV Cure Research in this special season. This episode was narrated by Vivian Avelino-Silva and Raif Derrazi. The script was produced by Vivian Avelino-Silva and Thomas J. Villa. Baioque Conteudo worked on sound edition. Amanda Eng and Francisco Jones produced the cover. Emma Wurdemann-Stam produced the music for the teaser. We present testimonials from Monica Gandhi, Steven Deeks, Thomas J. Villa, Alecia Tramel-McIntyre, Adam Castillejo, and recordings from CNN and democracynow.
