Notas do episódio

In this special episode of Sentir Pensar E Agir (To Feel Think And Act), Rúben reveals the highs and lows of a 25-year journey, from his beginnings in the "andorinhas do Rosário" (Rosário swallows) to international acclaim. This is a story of dedication to Alentejo culture. Challenges and Reinvention in the Music World Rúben shares how a recent negative moment propelled him into a solo career, forcing him to “start from scratch,” a step that ultimately proved positive. They discuss the difference between pure Cante – just voices – and the instrumentalized Alentejo music he now presents. The artist raises important questions about the disinvestment in choral groups following the UNESCO distinction and the need for infrastructure to bring Cante to major world stages. A Genuine Artist in the Midst of Cultural Week Humility is his hallmark: Rúben states that the secret is to “just be me,” without “diva antics,” which allows him to return and be well-received anywhere in the world, especially among communities living with saudade (a deep emotional state of nostalgic longing) for Portugal. He also discusses the experience of teaching Cante in primary schools and his participation in The Voice Portugal. For those seeking the essence of the Alentejo and inspiration to pursue their art with truth, this is the right episode.
