A Language-Learning Expert on Learning Languages

Notas do episódio

In today's episode, I decided to interview one of my students, James Davis-Ford. James is a teacher of Arabic in the United States and has been learning Portuguese with me for about four years. But he hasn't learned only Portuguese or Arabic — with 5+ languages under his belt, he's a true expert when it comes to learning languages. In this interview, entirely in Portuguese, you'll get to know: The relationship of Americans with language learning in general; Stats on California and bilingualism (you may be surprised with the % of bilingual people that might smash the myths that Americans are monolinguals); A mind-boggling fact about the Chechen language that beginners face immediately upon starting (!); Is it better to learn a language similar to your own or a much different language? How to create motivation to keep learning Portuguese and best enjoy the process. And much more! (James is taking on new students of Arabic or English! Just send a message and he’ll be in touch :-) =============================== And if you want to speak with confidence using the right Portuguese verb tenses, grab your free report at https://IntermediatePortuguese.com/verbs =============================== Eli Sousa is a Portuguese teacher who provides one on one lessons online.
