Gestão ambiental. Environmental management.

Notas do episódio

Environmental Management is an area of knowledge and work that aims to plan and apply environmentally correct actions together with people and companies. Its main objective is to research, think, idealize and put into practice human and business activities that use the natural resources of our planet in a rational way. Environmental management is the field of study for the administration of the exercise of economic and social activities in order to make rational use of natural resources, including energy sources, renewable or not. Main fields of environmental management: 1 - Recovery of degraded areas: coordinate and monitor the implementation of projects to recover deforested or polluted areas. 2 - Education: development of awareness programs on the importance of preserving the environment. 3 - Certification: knowledge of the licensing processes and environmental legislation and applications of international environmental certification standards such as ISO 14000 - for example. 4 - Geoprocessing: treatment of data and geographical information through specific computer programs that assist in the management of watersheds, in the environmental control and monitoring of preservation areas, in the preparation of environmental impact studies, in environmental diagnostics and in the mapping of vegetation , for example. Geoprocessing is a framework and set of tools for processing geographic and related data. The comprehensive suite of geoprocessing tools can be used to perform spatial analysis or manage GIS (Geographic Information System) data in an automated way. 5 - Extraction of Natural Resources: monitoring the process of exploiting natural resources to ensure that the technique used is the most appropriate and has the least impact on the environment. 6 - Elaboration of public policies: in public bodies, such as ministries, municipal and state secretariats of the environment, the environmental manager can compose the teams that are in charge of defining public policies for the recovery of the environment and master plans, for example. It can then be concluded that Environmental Management is a natural consequence of the evolution of humanity's thinking in relation to the use of natural resources in a wiser way, where only what can be replaced should be removed or if this is not possible, if at least it recovers the environmental degradation caused. You learned today what are the main fields of environmental management. Until the next program.
