#525 - 🇬🇧 Do I Need my Income to Survive? Faith-raising vs. Fundraising

Notas do episódio

What is the true purpose of stewardship ministries in the church? Is it about balancing budgets and funding operations, or preparing hearts for eternity? In this advisory presentation, leadership from General Conference Stewardship, Treasury, and Planned Giving & Trust Services (PGTS) discuss their collaborative vision for church giving. Moving away from a transactional "fundraising" mentality, this session explores how biblical stewardship serves as a spiritual discipline designed to raise faith rather than just raise money. Through candid personal testimonies—including navigating hyperinflation, pay cuts, and radical generosity—Marcos Bomfim confronts a pivotal question: Does God need our salary for us to survive, or is He asking us to trust Him completely? > In this episode, you’ll discover: Faith Raising vs. Fundraising: Why the goal of stewardship is bringing people to heaven, not filling church safes. The 5 Pillars of the Stewardship & Treasury Partnership: Connecting spiritual growth, worship through giving, and mission witness. Donation vs. Worship: The fundamental shift from seeing ourselves as "donors" to recognizing God as the true owner of everything. Redefining Success: Why leadership should measure member participation and generosity rather than just total dollars collected. Building Member Trust: The critical role of transparent communication, annual church audits, and sharing frontline mission stories instead of dry financial reports. Guarding Young Hearts: How regular and systematic giving protects youth from worldliness and anchors their commitment to God. Key Scriptures Referenced: Matthew 6:19–21, Galatians 2:20, and 1 John 2:15–17. This theme was presented during the 2026 General Conference Planned Giving & Trust Services Advisory, at the General Conference Headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, on February 23, 2026. 📌 Subscribe to stay updated on faith, ministry leadership, and biblical stewardship.
