Ep. 46 - The State of the Wedding Industry, with Rui

Notas do episódio

This is a different kind of episode: no guest, just Rui, working through five questions he keeps getting asked by couples, colleagues, and the industry at large. No script, no polish, just his honest (and sometimes uncomfortable) take. In this solo episode, Rui unpacks: Why pricing in the wedding industry feels so opaque, and whether vendors should start putting prices on their websites Referral commissions between planners and vendors, and what it means for couples who can't tell if a recommendation is genuine The rise of vendor "content creator" culture, and why filming yourself at someone else's wedding for the algorithm misses the point of the job Where the line sits between creative ambition and using a couple's wedding as your own portfolio canvas The recent Vogue piece on real wedding budgets, and why Rui thinks it did more harm than good for industry transparency If something here makes you think, or disagree, that's the point. Send it to someone in the industry who needs to hear it. This episode is powered by Dreambooks Pro, one of the best album suppliers in Europe.
