Notas do episódio

This message, "Trust in the Lord and Promise Offerings: The Power of Vows and Commitments," addresses the challenging human tendency to trust in self, senses, and perceptions rather than God. Key Topics Covered: The Struggle to Trust: The speaker discusses how the natural heart is deceitful, making it a constant struggle to obey the biblical command to "Trust in the Lord and do good." Trusting God requires leaning not on your own understanding or interpretations of reality, but fully committing your way to the Lord. Delight and Commitment: Discover how to delight yourself in the Lord by spending time with Him. This commitment leads God to grant you the desires of your heart and to bring forth your righteousness as light. This video emphasizes the importance of praying and reading the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy—not just for sermon preparation, but to be instructed, become humble, and receive the Holy Spirit's power. The Power of Promise Offerings: The video delves deeply into Christian stewardship, explaining that honoring the Lord with your possessions and the first fruits of all your increase is essential. Solomon promises that practicing this commitment results in health to your flesh and strength to your bones. Motivation for Giving: Learn why tithes and offerings are not primarily intended to fund the church's mission, but rather to strengthen your personal relationship with God. The practice of giving is a way to honor the Lord. When you put your treasure in God's treasury, your heart will follow, attaching it to heaven. Offerings are as much expected by God as tithes, as both were mentioned when people robbed Him (Malachi 3). A Testimony of Faith: Systematic giving—including Promise Offerings (regular, fixed percentage offerings beside tithes)—is presented as one of the most powerful exercises of trust. Returning tithes and offerings is a testament to the angels that you still believe there is a good, powerful God in heaven who sustains your life. The message invites listeners to renew or make new decisions to live by faith, obeying God's word and waiting patiently to see His mighty acts in their lives. My notes: Ps 37:3-5 - trust in the Lord Prov 3:5… - trust in the Lord with all your heart Malachi 3:8-10 - offerings are not optional. God expects them as he expects the tithe 2 Chron 20:20 - believe His prophets and you will prosper Matt 6:21 - wherever my treasure is… My testimony: how I became promisor Promise Firstfruits Find more about "Promise Offerings" here: https://stewardship.adventist.org/promise-(regular-and-systematic-offerings) Find the commitment card in multiple languages here: https://stewardship.adventist.org/commitment-card-promise 📍Originally presented to 350 pastors during the “Set Apart” Ministerial Convention of the Trans-Pacific Union Mission in Nadi, Fiji – February 12–16, 2024.
